Back in the Saddle Again...With a Senior

After a very eventful and full summer, it was time to get ready to hit the books yet again. Riley made sure that we didn't forget to get our "back to school" Gooeys from Dockside for our last FHE of the summer. Then Jake gave the boys each a father's blessing. These boys are going to do great things.

We had to do some clothes shopping for Riley because he has literally grown half a foot over the summer. He was a little more particular than I was expecting. I guess he knows what he likes. One of those things he likes is Nana's long standing tradition of getting a slurpy after school shopping. Viva la Slurpy!

On the first day, Riley had to be up bright and early. It was a beautiful day to start walking to school. I have every confidence in this seventh grader!

Brendan, on the other hand, got to have a late start. Only the freshmen had to be to school in the early morning. The upperclassmen got to wait until after 11! Brendan decided to follow in Caleb's footsteps and host a senior breakfast for a few of his closest pals. He made them all pancakes and then they hung out and played some Exploding Kittens. They are a fun bunch of youth! I'm so grateful that Brendan has found his tribe.

With a TA period, a "study hall" period and release time seminary, he's livin' the dream this year. Just as he planned. Go get it, Brendan! Class of 2023!

Oh how excited they look. Amazing to see these boys loving school like they do. That's wonderful! They will do great things for sure!
