Brendan's Epic 16th pt. 2
For the first time in recent memory, Brendan got to have BOTH sets of grandparents there to celebrate his birthday! Being in the middle of the school year, we have never been traveling to see family and they haven't traveled to see us, unlike Riley and Caleb who have summer birthdays when we have been visiting family.
For his epic birthday dinner, Brendan wanted to go to Red Lobster, just like Caleb in once. As it happened, the server made a mistake on his order, so he ended up with THE most expensive meal on the menu (a surf and turf feast) AND the one he actually wanted which was a lobster and crab feast! He had lunches for the next several days!

After we got home, he got to open the gifts from his aunts, uncles and grandparents, including seeing the awesome birthday card that Grandma and Grandpa Jerdon made (with some help from Jacob).

He wanted pies for his birthday, specifically cherry (thank you, Shari's) and Caleb famous Dutch apple. Mine didn't look exactly like Caleb's, but it tasted just as good!
Then, to round out his week and a half of birthday celebrations, we also opened up the family gifts to him once Jacob was home from his UTA weekend in Seattle. Riley got Brendan a new phone case and screen, which he had been wanting. They made it look like a brand new phone.
I got Brendan some "drip". He had asked for a two-tone man's watch, so I found him a nice Fossil one. He was pretty excited.
So, the birthday that seemed like it would be a flop ended up being over a week of love, gifts, friends, family and firsts. First limo ride, first surprise party, first drip. But, like Brendan says, "What is drip, if not sauce persevering? For I say unto you it is not the will of the mind to be cool, but the will of the heart." Visions 13:37
