The High Five Bros Premier

Little did we know, we had a celebrity under our roof! The singer/songwriter, Caleb Jerdon, who starred in a cross country boys' team original music video, in fact. Yes, it's true.

Caleb and some of his friends decided to put together, shoot and edit a blockbuster style MV just for kicks. He wrote a rap, which his friends then helped mix with some sweet beats. Then, with the help of his friend Ben Ely, who has some state of the art editing software and videography equipment (AND a fancy drone), they organized a bunch of the cross country boys' team and their friends to pull the video together.

They were working on it for weeks.

Then, the day finally arrived when it was ready for viewing by the public...so they decided to hold a world premier. Yes, friends. A world premier. At our house.

Caleb went to the craft store looking for a long roll of red paper, but they only had pink, so we had a hip "pink carpet" laid out the front door and into the house for the elite set of guests to walk down. I was asked to be the photog for the event.

So, with Martinelli's on ice, dressed in his tux, mood lighting set up in the "jazz lounge" downstairs, and his smooth jazz playlist on the surround speakers, we were ready to receive Caleb's guests for the first ever "High Five Bros Music Video Premier".

His buddy Mitch arrived early to help set up some extra lighting effects, so they were the first to be photographed on the pink carpet. Brendan also got an exclusive invite since he was the acting technical support man for the evening, charged with projecting the MV up onto the big screen.

Starting at 8pm, the guests started to trickle in. Many chose to where their night attire.

Those who arrived early got to enjoy the jazz lounge, "playing" some Louis Armstrong and trying to improvise on Caleb's trumpet. They poured some drinks and got into the part.

Caleb had been telling me all that week that some of his friends were considering pooling their resources to go in on a limo together. Well, that happened!

They rolled up the street with "Gungnam Style" blaring.

This was the scene from the inside. A bunch of Caleb's friends, livin' large in anticipation of the big premier. All Martinelli's, of course.

The limo driver got out and opened the thing up like a space ship, and then they came out and reveled in their triumphant arrival.

They walked the red carpet and showed off their best duds.

There were about 30 kids in our basement when 9 o'clock came. Caleb rang his glass and gathered everyone in a quick toast to Ben and all those who helped organize the video. Then they all got to see it for the first time before it was released on YouTube to the public.

There were cheers, laughs and moments of awe as they all enjoyed the inside cross country jokes and stellar editing that was the High Five Bros. What a fun and crazy night, that Caleb will remember forever. Check out the video for yourself! Disclaimer: If you aren't a teenage boy on the CV cross country team, most of the lyrics will hold no meaning for you. Enjoy. LOL  https://youtu.be/k77_CxqaxeM
