Some Snow

This has been a weird winter for weather. It hasn't been especially cold, only getting down into the 30s and maybe the 20s at night and then hovering in the mid-30s and maybe 40s during the day. That has meant that we've hardly had any good, lasting snowfalls. Snow almost immediately turns to freezing rain, melts and is gone. What little snow there is that sticks is usually gone in a day or becomes slushy and unusable, only to freeze into icebergs later. It's been very annoying for those of us who need others of us to go outside and play more.

That being said, we finally had a day that was sort of snowy. Enough to try sledding for the one and only time this winter. Riley, Brendan and I headed over to the Valley Mission Park sledding hill to get some wiggles out and get some fresh air in.

Someone had placed a random bail of hay out at the bottom of the hill and made a sort of jump out of it. So, of course Brendan decided to try for it. Funny enough, he found it difficult to aim his sled at it and missed several times. Riley missed on purpose, and I didn't blame him. I wouldn't have done it.

On another snowy evening, Caleb decided to go out to our front yard and get creative. It was our one and only snowman of the winter break. And a memorable one he was! Ha! Thanks to inspiration from Calvin and Hobbes. How do you like Caleb's little snow cannon? He just had to make the most of what little time he had with the snow.
