Medieval Times for Blue & Gold
For the annual celebration of scouting, Riley's pack held their Blue & Gold banquet with a medieval theme. They asked all the Cubs to make their own cake to bring to the celebration dinner.
Riley was so excited to choose and design and get creating. He chose to go with a shield. I was happy because we could just cut and cover a cake with fondant. Easy peasy for a beginning cake decorator. Here is Riley with his creation.
Jessica Robinson, the Cub Committee Chair, and Emily Jack, the Primary presidency member over scouting, did an AMAZING job decorating for the event. Emily put homemade torches like the one in this photo booth all along the hallway of the church. Lit by tea lights, it really set the mood coming in through the silver duct tape keep gate. Jessica draped the walls with color and set out a nice meal spread of fresh fruits, veggies, cheese and meats.
The boys got to take pictures in front of this cool photo scene, and sit with their families at the banquet tables for a plowman's lunch type meal, eating with your hands. Riley (and even Caleb and Brendan) were really impressed.
While we ate, the awards were given out to all the dens. Riley and his den received their "Running with the Pack" belt loop.
Then, each den took a turn putting on a medieval skit. Riley got to play the king in his den's skit. They all did so well, and had a total blast! Such cute boys, and what a fun night!
