Eclipse Time

Well, we weren't in an area with the ability to see the total eclipse, but it was a pretty big deal in the country when the total eclipse of the sun was going down. We checked out the NASA website and YouTube channels to follow the action. We also made some viewers using cereal boxes. It wasn't perfect, but you could make out the crescent of the sun. Very cool.

I used a trick with just a piece of paper to show the boys. I remember doing that when I was in high school during an eclipse. What's crazy is how even regular shadows like from your body or leaves on the trees start to show little crescents along the edges. We love astronomy!
