Anatomy of a Toboggan Run

Some friends from our ward, the Ethingtons, told me about a really fun toboggan run only a couple of hours from Toledo in Indiana's Pokegon (PO-kAY-gun) State Park. We got to take the boys a couple of years back during our record cold winter, but hadn't had the chance to go back until this year when Jacob had so many days off close to Christmas.

The boys were so excited to take another turn down the wicked-fast, refridgerated track. We weren't going to let the lack of snowfall keep us from doing some sledding!

So, here is the anatomy of a toboggan run.

1) The hike up the hill with the 50 pound toboggan in tow.

2) The release from the toboggan chute.

3) Flying down the hill at 34 miles an hour.

4) ....no time to smile for the camera...

5) Gone over the hills to the end of the track, ready to do it all again.

Thankfully, it wasn't as cold as the last time we went, but it was definitely cold. We brought a sack lunch to eat in the car and then went back for more afterwards.

Now if we could do that same thing on a hill covered in snow, we'd feel like the real deal. Good times!
