Everywhere, A Riley Bear
Almost a month ago, Riley took his first independent steps. It was while we were at Jake's aunt, Trisha's house. She was sitting across from me in the living room, holding one of her little doggies. Riley LOVES doggies. He suddenly let go of me and took four steps to get to the doggy. Yay! Go, Riley Bear!
Since then, he's been slowly building up his confidence and toddling a few steps here, a few steps there all around the house (although I have YET to catch it on camera since he always sees me and stops). Then crawling power gets him the rest of the way to wherever he's off to...which is pretty much everywhere. Boy, do I need to child proof!
Among his favorite spots are the pots and pans cupboard, my bathroom to unroll the toilet paper and take everything out of the drawers, the computer to help get whatever is printing out of the printer and try to help me type, as well as the cupboard under the sink where he helps get the soap for the dishwasher everynight. He's actually been trained now to get the soap packet out, put it in the correct niche in the dishwasher and then close the door. It's our little chore together.

It's both fun and terrifying that he's becoming more and more mobile. Nothing will be safe for awhile, but he is just so darn cute you can't be too worked up about it. I love you, Riley Bear!
