Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

The boys have been LOVING every second that they've been able to have with their Dad since the end of his school year and this holiday weekend as no exception. In addition to playing some baseball and building with Legos together, we also planned some extra fun activities.

We snuck in a bit of culture (as it IS technically instrumental, classical music) by surprising the boys with "Star Wars: the Concert" that was playing at the Orleans for a single day engagement. In addition to hearing the symphony and choir perform all the music from the Star Wars soundtracks, there were various costumed folks from the movies to take pictures with and displays to peruse in the lobby. It was a really good show and just in time for the 30th anniversary of "The Empire Strikes Back".

Another day, we all played at one of the awesome splash pad parks. I even got to try out my new maternity swimsuit (sorry, absolutely NO pictures of that one, but suffice it to say that it fit and I could play in the water, too).

It was a gorgeous weekend to share together as we also reflected on those who have sacrificed on our behalf. At dinner, we talked about our own family members and ancestors who served or fought for our country. We are so very blessed!
