The 21st Century

It continues to amaze me just how technology continues to advance. Just last Sunday, we had our first video phone call with my parents back in California. The boys thought that it was especially novel, parading their collection of action figures in front of the webcam...one at a time. "And this one is General Grievous, and he's a bad guy. And this one is a pilot stormtrooper. And this one is Anakin before he makes the bad choices and becomes Darth Vader..." Luckily, Nana and Papa thought it was great fun, and were just thrilled to be able to see their only grandchildren face to face (pretty much). Since we have yet to live within easy driving distance from either of our families, this is a great chance to finally connect on more intimate terms than the regular phone calls. There's something about actually seeing someone's facial expressions as you talk to them. Not to mention that I'm feeling like we're finally stepping into the 21st Century. What's next, flying cars?

I love web cams! They are the best for grandparents/ grandchildren too! What a good opportunity to teach your kids about music- you're such a good mom!

Thanks goodness for modern technology! We do the whole web cam thing too with grandparents since we don't get to see them all the time too, and they love it! It's our Sunday night tradition! That is too funny that your boys wanted to show them all their action figures and talk all about them. Boys will be boys, huh?
